2016 brings the first taste of winter to Minnesota

So totally agree that we have had a very mild fall.  Climate change?  Probably not.  Mother Nature having a sense of humor?  Definitely!  It's now November 18th and the temps have been ranging towards 60s during the day and 40s at night.  This morning I awoke to 47 degrees.

BUT - today Minnesota is tapped to get it's first blast of winter.  Central Minnesota already had closed schools for today.  I'm on the edge of the snow.  They are saying cold (30s), lots of wind (45+ mph) and snow.  The snow will accumulate on the grass, but not pavement.

Knowing how my fellow Minnesotans deal with this first snowfall of the year I bused to work today.  I'd much rather have a wi-fi enabled bus ride home where I can read a book than be stuck in traffic for 2+ hours trying to get over the river to home.  I'll post pictures as they come up!

2:15 p.m. - Snow has started
3:31 p.m. - Snow is now horizontal out of the north.  Traffic is getting snarled.  Okay, I took the bus and am really starting to think this was a smart move.  :)
