Medieval Bridge - part deux

Ahhh! I found a new photo of the bridge. Don't know why, but I find it facinating. BTW, this photo is off of yahoo with the caption "A medieval bridge has emerged from the depths of the San Juan reservoir in San Martin de Valdeiglesias, 70 kilometres (43 miles) outside Madrid, as a result of dramatically low water levels, September 21, 2005. (Susana Vera/Reuters)"

Now some folks declare that global warming is a myth, and that the earth goes in cycles with alternating heat and cold waves.

I personally believe in global warming, but as a counter point consider this...

Look at the height that the water normally rides pre-draught. Then consider how low this bridge is. When it was originally built I'd say the water level is where is currently is. We have fiddled with the flow of the river with our dams and concrete walls I'm sure. The greater our technology, the more we tend to fiddle. That egocentric urge to control our environment always crops up generation after generation. Now it has been recorded that this area has been under drought for several years. Nature attempting to override our attempts to control it?

Just another of those things that make you go Hmmmmm..... Posted by Picasa
