Manners Rant

Hello world.

After dealing with several people this week who have demonstrated that they have no manners what-so-ever and think the world was created to please them, it's time for my first rant.

Have you ever wondered just how much further you'd get if you used those two little words that our parents taught us? Okay, I'm of a generation where we were taught to use please if we wanted something - and then use Thank You for a kindness done to us. You're Welcome is another of those kind curtesies that will never go amiss.

Today though? Manners seem to be slowly disappearing into the ether. The most astounding thing is that the people who are lost them are of my generation or older! Wassup with that???

So, for anyone reading this - remember your manners. I'm more willing to agree to something if you ASK me to do it, not TELL me I'm going to do it because it's convenient for you. Use that tact and I won't be doing it anytime in this lifetime. And don't let your ego get so tied up in your personality that it kills any small remnant of manners you might still have within you. You'll only end up making an ass of yourself. And we all know that being an ass is a endless source of amusement for someone like me. *chuckle*

Miss Manners' Basic Training

You all know who you are so there is no reason for me to name any names. All I can say is you need to wise up and remember - this isn't a Me/My/I world. People that think that way don't get ahead very fast - especially with me. I'll blow you off with no qualms because I don't have to deal with folks that are rude and selfish. This is a You/Us/We world. That's what keeps us sane and cohesive as a team. And remember, if I've blown you off it'll be hard to get back into my graces again. Like trust - you'll have to earn it.

And to those who have shown another person a kindness this past week - I thank you from the bottom of my good manners and my heart. Keep it up! We'll eventually make the rude ones who walk the face of this planet just cower in shame. :)
